DBS notes...
37425 (WNTS) has been returned to Toton from Bescot whilst 37670 (WFMU) has completed its move to Wigan, initially from Bescot to Warrington with 37401 before being forwarded on the the CRDC / Springs Branch behind a 66. 37670 is to have its air tanks recertified at Wigan. 60024, returned to use at the weekend for railtour duties has now been reinstated, WNTR to WCAI swapping places with 60044 which, although still in service this morning, has been stored WNTR. 92016 stopped at Crewe EMD and stored WNTR, it was in the WFMU pool, whilst 92034, returned to use earlier in the month, is now reinstated to WTAE. Lastly 08737 which had been at Warrington for attention was removed on a low loader yesterday.

First Class 66s renumbered...
Two of the ex DRS Class 66s at Glasgow Works have been renumbered into the 66/8 series in recognition of their forthcoming transfer to use with Advenza. 66406 and 66407 are the two concerned and they have been renumbered 66841 and 66842 respectively. Both have been reallocated from HQ SBXL to GL and the ADFL pool.

92 to go...
92032 (PTXX) has been loaded on to a trailer at Brush Traction for transfer by road to Folkestone.

66s to go...
It has been indicated that Freightliner are to send two more Class 66s to Poland. 66582 and 66583 have been identified as the pair earmarked for export.

37425 & 37670...
Eastleigh bound 37425 (WNTS) and Wigan destined 37670 (WFMU) have been conveyed from Toton to Bescot for forwarding to their respective destinations.

33103...
To go on loan to the Swanage Railway this summer 33103 (NRLO) has been out-shopped at Barrow Hill in BR blue. On return to Barrow Hill in the autumn it is planned to prepare 33103 for a return to mainline running.

Old Oak Common clear out...
The Class 56s stored at Old Oak Common are being prepared for removal from the site - destination unknown at the moment - as Old Oak has to be cleared.

MNR Convoy...
37425 (WNTS) has been dropped off at Toton after running in convoy with 60059 66144 and 67008 back from the Mid Norfolk Railway.

Disposal...
Earlier in the month 08731 was removed from Merehead to a local scrap dealer in Frome where it has since been broken up. 08826 has also been removed from Merehead to the Mid Hants Railway for further storage. 08731 was stored from Motherwell and the LGML pool back in December 1995, RIP.

60024...
From Margam 60024 (WNTR) has been turned out to top and tail sections of today's Cwm & Go tour from the East Midlands to various locations in South Wales. 37401 handled the bulk of the tour solo due to 37406 not being released from repairs at Eastleigh and 08567 was also employed in the Newport area.

67010...
Not DB as anticipated but 67010 (WFMU) has been out shopped in WSMR livery at Toton.

DBS 37s...
Unfortunately in the end it wasn't possible to get 37406 ready for tomorrow's Cwm and Go tour, 37406 being left behind at Eastleigh whilst 37401 and a Class 67 worked north with the ECS overnight. 37670 has been moved down to Toton from Knottingley.

Further to yesterday's report it has been advised that 56301 and 56302 are likely to be redeployed to coal workings shortly. The working into Hatfield Colliery, conveniently sited near their base at Doncaster, has been cited as their probable duties.

60031 at Toton has been stored WNTS swapping places with 60059 currently performing on the Mid Norfolk which has been reinstated to WFMU.

86233...
Further to the last time this was mentioned it has been advised that 86233 (SRLO), still languishing at Crewe EMD, is far from sold. Outstanding unpaid bills still to be settled.

31188...
Curiously 31188 has been re-registered with the system and allocated to the CREL pool. 31188 was broken up at Stockton last autumn.

Following removal by road from Doncaster Carr 08922 (WNTR) has been deposited at Crewe EMD.

Weighed in...
47375 (ADFL), a non runner since failing at Preston a few weeks ago, has been sold to Booths for scrap. It was towed to Rotherham this morning by 57006. As far as can be ascertained 47375 and the other silver team Class 47s up for sale are not the mainline registered Class 47s recently offered for sale via the CAR Services website.

Mid Norfolk Convoy...
Following an overnight move to Toton via Bescot 37425 (WNTS) along with 60059 (WNTS) 66144 and 67008 ran from Toton to Dereham this afternoon for this weekend's gala.

Flap over...?
37401 (WKBN) is now at Eastleigh, possibly to escort 37406 (WFMU) when it goes out on test, its repair being as good as complete following an 'all hands on deck' session at Eastleigh whilst 37670 (WFMU) is still waiting transfer to Wigan.

Disposal...
The demolition of 37238, stored from WKMF on its return from France in October 2000, is as good as complete at Booths. Only its frame on bogies remain, RIP.

08922 & 60024...
08922 (WNTR) has been removed from Doncaster Carr by road, destination unknown, whilst 60024 (WNTR) has been hauled up from St Blazey to Margam.

47714...
Moved a day earlier than anticipated 47714 has been transported the short distance from Brush Traction at Loughborough to Quorn on the Great Central Railway. It has been advised that 47714 is to be made available for use on the line during its stay.

Fastline 56s...
Following the news that the container flows are ceasing to run the Fastline Class 56 fleet is shortly to be technically redundant. It is understood that 56303 is to be returned to RVE at Derby whilst the future use of 56301 and 56302 is to be evaluated.

Disposals...
D3476, withdrawn from Toton in 1968, has been disposed of at Thomson's, Stockton and 56025, stored from Thornaby and the WGAT pool in April 2002, has been disposed of at Booth's, Rotherham.

Brush arrival and pending departure...
43013 (QCAR) has been delivered to Brush Traction, Loughborough, 31601 doing the honours, for re-engineering with MTU internals. It is not clear yet if the NR power cars are to be renumbered on re-engineering in line with the East Coast and Cross Country power cars but it is understood this is a possibility, 43013 would therefore become 43213 on release. To leave Brush shortly is 47714 which is to go to the nearby Great Central Railway.

37s on the move...
37294 (WNSO) has been taken north from Crewe EMD by road, noted on the M6 early afternoon, to the Embsay & Bolton Abbey near Skipton and into preservation. 37425 (WNTS) has now left Eastleigh being transferred in the consist of today's 6V27 behind 66145 on the first leg of its journey to the Mid Norfolk Railway for the gala.

Being prepared for transfer from Eastleigh 37425 (WNTS) is booked to go initially to Bescot for forwarding to Toton where it will join 60059 (WNTS) for onward movement to the Mid Norfolk Railway for next weekend's Spring Diesel Gala.

43251 and 43310 (both IECP) have been released from Brush Traction, running north as 5Z50 to Neville Hill, following re-engineering. These were the final pair being done for National Express East Coast. At Brush being prepared for use with FGW 43053 and 43056 have now been reallocated to the EFPC fleet from IECP.

60s...
60011, latterly stopped at Eastleigh, and 60020 at Toton have been stored, WNTS and WNTR respectively. 60061 (still WNTS) has entered traffic working today's Forders off Toton and 60085 has been reinstated to WCAN from store at Toton.

90s...
90024 has been reinstated to WEFE from store at Crewe EMD exchanging places with 90026 which has been stored WNTS at Crewe.

20901 20905 37029 37412 & 37672...
Booked to run on the 20th 20901 and 20905 are tasked with the transfer of 37029 (ADFL) 37412 (WNSO) and 37672 (HNRS) from Barrow Hill to Long Marston. 37029 and 37412 have been re-registered, ADFL and WNSO respectively, for this transfer. Selected times; Barrow Hill 09:40, Chesterfield 10:12, Toton 10:40, Burton on Trent 11:25, Tamworth 11:41, Water Orton 12:06, Bromsgrove 12:39, Worcester Shrub Hill 13:00 - 13:33, Evesham 13:52 and Long Marston 14:30.

DBS notes...
60013 from store at Toton and 60062, diverted to Margam from Newport vice going to Toton for repairs, have been reinstated to the WCAK and WFMU pools respectively however 60010, currently at Bescot en route to Toton, has been stored WNTS, a net increase in the Class 60 fleet to 15. 60061 (WNTS) went out on test yesterday between Toton and Leicester whilst 60027 (WNTR) has completed its transfer to Toton. 66031 (WFMU) is back proper with a run out on today's 6B42 Toton to Forders job whilst 92034 (WNTR) has been pressed back into service from store at Crewe EMD.

Noted heading north on a low loader on the M1 yesterday 08510 has completed its move from Eastleigh to Booth's, Rotherham.

60027 and 60062 (both WNTR) have been on the move from their latter storage locations. 60027 has been moved up to Bescot from Didcot whilst 60062 has been moved from Tavistock Junction to Newport. Both are assigned to go to Toton but whilst 60027 is showing N ONE still 60062 has been assigned for a B exam. 60061 (WNTS) has been noted on shunting duties at Toton in recent days.

37s...
At Barrow Hill 37412 and 37672 (HNRS) have been piped up indicating a move out by rail is on the cards, Long Marston a possible destination if so, meanwhile it has been indicated that 37294 (WNSO), still awaiting collection by road from Crewe, is more than likely not now Rotherham bound...

Disposal...
Out of its misery at last 37414, stored from Toton and WKCN back in March 2000, has been broken up at Thomson's, Stockton, RIP.

Booth's notes...
It has been established that 08890 was the shunter moved up to Rotherham from Studley earlier in the week, 08510 thus remains at Allely's awaiting movement north. 56064 is now being broken up.

D3255 / 08933...
Colne Valley resident D3255 is now de-listed following the news that 08933 (WNSO) has a new career in the Mendips, it had been proposed that D3255 and 08933 were to be the subject of a trade off hence the earlier speculation over D3255's future. 08933 was moved by road from Hoo Junction to Merehead yesterday.

47540...
Sinderby resident 47540 has been added to the storage lists as a one way journey to Thomson's, Stockton is now on the cards.

86233...
Subject to confirmation it has been indicated that the finances surrounding 86233 are in the process of being cleared up and it is to transfer ownership to Electric Traction Services.

Disposals & Booths...
It has now been confirmed that the scrapping of 37201 and 56084 has been completed at Booth's, Rotherham. 56064 appears to be next in line for processing whilst one of the ex Eastleigh Class 08s, either 08510 or 08890, has arrived via Studley, the other remains at Allely's. 37201 was stored from LBDB at Bescot in September 1996 whilst 56084 went from Immingham and the WGAN pool in January 2000, RIP.

Following attention at Carlisle Kingmoor 37610 has been reinstated to the XHNC pool.

Toton...
09009 (WNXX) from Stewarts Lane has been moved up to Toton by road, it arrived yesterday, meanwhile 58012 and 58014 (both WZTS), possibly to be prepared for transfer away, have been dug out of the Compound.

A bit of a shuffle of allocations between the storage pools sees 08495 08757 08886 09017 09022 09101 and 09107 being reallocated from WNTS to WNTR whilst 09001 has gone in the opposite direction, WNTR to WNTS.

Shed 31...
Back together and on shake down trails at Toton 66031 (WFMU) has been seeing use as the yard shunter after being resurrected to working order.

At Barrow Hill 20107 has been moving about under its own power for the first time since 1999.

DRS annex Anglia...
Expect to see more of the Blue Team in evidence in and around East Anglia with the news that DRS are taking on some of the duties in the area currently being undertaken by Cotswold Rail.

On the road...
37418 has undertaken its move from Studley to the East Lancashire Railway and into preservation, it arrived at Bury mid afternoon. Next for collection should be 37421 which is understood to be going initially from Motherwell to Studley. Other prospective road movements in the coming days include 08510 and 08890 (both WNSO) from Studley to Rotherham, these moves may already have taken place, 08582 (WNSO) from Doncaster to Rotherham, 37294 (WNSO) from Crewe to Rotherham and a Class 37 from the Weardale.

87029...
At Long Marston 87029 (SBXL) has been out shopped in BRC Green colours.

Booth's update...
The scrapping of 37201 and 56084 is well in progress at Booth's, Rotherham. When viewed yesterday 37201 consisted of one cab and some bodywork whilst 56084 had been reduced to little more than one cab and its frame.

Still languishing at Knottingley 37670 (WFMU) has been taken off decision but the prognosis is no better as it is showing engine problems with an ok date set at 12/12.

Former Flixborough Wharf resident 20107 has been restarted at Barrow Hill. Further repairs are to take place and a repaint, into a colour scheme yet to be determined, will be undertaken before gala duties in May.

86233...
Now recorded as being owned by Graham Kirk Rail 86233 is again being offered for sale. Details on the relevant page.

Anyone want to buy a Class 47 / some Class 47s...?
An advert listing 'a number of Class 47 locomotives in operating condition' has appeared on the CAR Services web site. No details are supplied with regards to who is offering these Class 47s for sale to the market although, on the assumption that it is one of the mainline operators who currently employs Class 47s, the choice is fairly limited...

On the road...
Now a Traditional Traction machine, Class 10 D3476 going to Stockton as part of its acquirement, 08670 (WNSO) has been transported south from Motherwell to the Colne Valley Railway. Rotherham bound 56011 (MRLS) left Long Marston on a low loader late afternoon and 37294 (WNSO) has been moved round from Crewe DMD to the EMD ready for extraction by road.

Disposal...
The cutting of 47358 (DHLT) at Thomson's, Stockton has been completed and D3476 could be next for the chop. 47358 was stored from the DFLM pool in March 2005, RIP.

Eastleigh 100 visitors...
DBS are to supply 60074 and possibly 37425 for the Eastleigh 100 event.

DRS 57s at Barrow Hill...
57004 and 57009 (both XHNC) have arrived at Barrow Hill for bogie lifts and modifications, the work being undertaken by HNRC.

DBS round up...
Several changes to record from the past week or so. 09017 stored in February at Newport was reinstated at the end of last month to the WSSN pool but has since been returned to store, WNTS at Alexandra Dock Junction. 09105 at East Usk and 08782 at Cardiff Tidal have been stored, both WNTS, whilst 08752 at Cardiff Tidal has been resurrected to WSSI from WNTS and 08646 has been stored WNTS at Margam. 90021 has been reinstated from store at Crewe EMD, WNTS to WFMU, swapping places with 90024 which has been stored WNTR at Crewe EMD. 92004 and 92039 have been stored, both WNTS at Crewe EMD whilst 92005 and 92013 are back, reinstated to WFMU then WTAE and to WFMU respectively.
