Disposal...
The scrapping of 31107, stored from Bescot and the LBDB pool back in July 1995, has been undertaken at Hulls, Rotherham. 31107 will always be remembered for whipping Jeremy Clarkson into a froth and a hi visibility jacket when it was propelled at speed, filmed for the Top Gear programme, into a Renault Espade at Scawby Crossing in Lincolnshire. RIP.

Exports...
Poland bound 66582 and 66583 (both DFHG) were hauled from Leeds Midland Road to Immingham yesterday afternoon by 66566 from where they can be forwarded by road transport for export. 86250 (EPXX) was tripped across from Crewe LNWR to Basford Hall this morning from where, after loading to road transport, was taken across to Immingham for shipping across to Holland then on to Hungary. It has been indicated that FLOYD will be taking further Class 86s in due course.

Thomsons, Stockton...
47370 (DHLT) has completed its transfer to Thomsons, it was delivered yesterday afternoon to Stockton where the demolition of 37704 is at an advanced stage.

60019 (now WNTR ex WNTS) undertook a test run between Toton and Crewe yesterday.

47370...
Collected from Felixstowe today 47370 (DHLT) is on its way north by road to Stockton.

47832...
Sidelined at Crewe Gresty Bridge 47832 has been transferred to the XHHP holding / storage pool.

92s...
92016 has been stored WNTS at Crewe EMD swapping places with long term absentee - having been sidelined since summer 2007 - 92031 which has been reinstated to the WFMU pool.

66843 & 66844...
66408 and 66409 at Glasgow Works to be prepared for use with Advenza have now been renumbered to 66843 and 66844 respectively. Both have also been transferred from SBXL to the ADFL pool.

Shed notes, part 1...
66401 66402 66403 66404 and 66405 (all SBXL) have completed their move through to London and have been parked up at Wembley.

Shed notes, part 2...
66582 and 66583 (both DFHG) at Leeds Midland Road are ready for the offski to Poland. As they have been modified for European use already they will have to be hauled to Immingham. The pair are booked for transfer from Leeds to Immingham on the 30th from where they will be exported. Reported timings; Leeds 12:54, Castleford 13:09, Hatfield & Stainforth 14:11, Scunthorpe 14:32, Barnetby 14:49 and Immingham 15:09.

Convoy...
66401 66402 66403 66404 and 66405 (all SBXL) have left Leeds Midland Road where they have been in store since last autumn and today ran south in convoy from Leeds to Peterborough as the first leg of their leg of their transfer to Wembley for further storage. 66402 provided power for the move, the other four are inoperable at the moment having being drained of liquids etc.

HNRC notes...
47818 (CRRH) has been secured by HNRC in a deal which sees 31166, currently on the Wensleydale Railway, going to Cotswold / Advenza. It is anticipated that 31166 will be weighed in, probably at Stockton, in due course. 47818 is to continue to see service with Cotswold Rail being hired back from HNRC as required. 08834 (HNRL), moved over from Crewe Gresty Bridge to Basford Hall a few days ago and has now been transported by road from Crewe to the Old Dalby test facility for hire to Serco.

From store / exam at Kingmoor 37038 (XHSS) has been released into traffic.

Tug...
From store WNTR at Toton 60085 has been reinstated to the WCAI pool.

Moved yesterday morning, it ran as 8Z47 behind 66569, 47370 (DHLT) has been transferred to Felixstowe for collection and transfer to Stockton by road.

87s away...
As far as can be ascertained 87020 87029 and 87033 (all SBXL) sailed across to mainland Europe yesterday for forwarding through to Bulgaria.

87s on their way...
In convoy on three lorries 87020 87029 and 87033 (all SBXL) have been transferred from Rugby, they were loaded for transportation at the Colas installation at Rugby, to Hull for shipment abroad to Bulgaria via Holland and a trip along the Rhine.

The movement, running as a class 8, of 47370 (DHLT) from Ipswich to Felixstowe for road transfer to Stockton has been pencilled in to take place on the morning of the 25th.

47540...
Following removal from Sinderby yesterday 47540 has been taken to Heanor's at Langley Mill.

Old Oak Common cleared...
The final train left Old Oak Common today for Eastleigh, seven coaches and 47799 (WNXX) in tow behind 66039.

Now the A1 can be widened...
Taken out on a Heanor lorry 47540 has been removed from the field adjacent to the A1 at Sinderby. Booths bound, although rumours of a last minute salvation persist, it may be off to Langley Mill before going to Rotherham.

Sparkies to Rugby...
Following testing at LNWR 87020 87029 and 87033 (all SBXL) have been hauled to Rugby from where they can be taken out by road for export.

Shunter notes...
08694 has been taken out of Booths, Rotherham by road today to the Great Central Railway and preservation. 08823 (KDSD) latterly at Trafford Park was noted traversing the A50 this afternoon en route to LH Group Services at Barton under Needwood. 08913, the other shunter no longer required at Trafford Park, has already been removed, to Boulby, whilst 08879 recently deposited at Toton has been stored WNTR. It is undergoing an exam.

WZFH disbanded...
The ACTS hire trio; 58038 58039 and 58044, still overseas, have been reallocated from WZFH to the WZFF French hire fleet pool.

The axe beckons...
37704 has been shunted into the cutting area at Thomsons, Stockton.

66841...
Made it at the second attempt, 66841 (ADFL) ran through from Glasgow to Stoke today.

66061 has hauled 56037 (WZTS) 56074 and 56105 (both WZGF) up from Wembley Yard to Crewe DMD.

South Wales shunters...
08782 (WNTS) latterly in store at Cardiff Tidal has been returned to use whilst 08466 (WSSI) has been taken to Margam for repairs.

37510...
At Crewe Gresty Bridge 37510 has been stored XHHP.

66841...
For attention at Springburn 66841 (ADFL) has returned north light engine from Carlisle.

DRS movements...
37059 (XHSS) has hauled 20314 (XHNC) and 37608 (XHSS) south from Crewe Gresty Bridge to Eastleigh Works whilst, after depositing 37259 (XHNC) at Derby 57008 returned to Crewe Gresty Bridge from the RTC with 37510 (XHNC) and 47790 (XHHP) in tow.

66841...
Released from Glasgow Works today 66841 (ADFL) only made it as far south as Carlisle. Running light engine as 0Z66 and retimed to run south several hours later than the original 09:20 departure path 66841 failed south of Carlisle and had to be recovered and brought back to Carlisle by 57316. Advenza have a new freight flow, believed to be containerised gypsum, to be run between West Burton and Tilbury Freight Terminal, 4E71 and 4L72 being the relevant head codes.

Removed yesterday 09019 (WNTR) has been moved up from Eastleigh to Doncaster Carr by road.

47799...
Along with the last remaining coaches on site at Old Oak Common 47799 (WNXX) is due to be hauled away to Eastleigh on the 22nd.

66841...
Due to be released from Glasgow Works tomorrow a path has been entered for 66841 (ADFL) to run south from Springburn to Longport, Stoke. Points of interest are Glasgow 09:20, Carstairs 10:32, Carlisle 12:38, Tebay 13:30, Preston 15:24, Wigan 15:59, Crewe 17:10 and Longport 18:00.

Disposal...
The scrapping of 37221, stored from WKMF on return from France October 2000, has been undertaken at Booths, Rotherham. Only its bogies were in evidence yesterday, RIP.

09004...
Recently offered for sale 09004, currently residing on the Spa Valley Railway, has now been sold.

37038...
Sidelined at Kingmoor, 37038 (XHSS) has been undergoing an E exam and should soon be ready for returning to service.

47270...
At Wansford 47270 has been undergoing air tank recertification, its roof sections have been removed to facilitate this, and OTMR equipment will be going into the locomotive in the next few weeks. It is aimed to have 47270 re-certified for a return to mainline running by the end of the year for heritage uses, charter work and stock moves etc.

Grids from Old Oak Common...
The last eight stored Class 56s have been removed from Old Oak Common, evidently 56081 is fixed now, leaving just 47799 on site. The Class 56s were tripped across to Wembley in two batches; 56071 56081 56094 56096 and 56113 (all WZGF) in the initial batch followed by 56037 (WZTS) 56074 and 56105 (both WZGF) in the second batch. 67001 and 67008 were utilised for these moves. Later in the day, and somewhat later than planned, a convoy was despatched north from Wembley for Crewe comprising 67001 with 56071 56081 56094 56096 and 56113 in tow. 56059 and 56095 (both WZGF) remain at Eastleigh.

Sparkies to Crewe...
86250 (EPXX) 87020 87029 and 87033 (all SBXL) have been hauled from Worcester to Crewe for electrical testing at LNWR.

08922...
A late entry, 08922 reinstated to WSSN last month, has been returned to use at Carlisle.

50008, 73006 and IWCA are back...
Two re-numberings and an old pool reactivated; 89408 has been renumbered to 50008 whilst Severn Valley resident 73906 has been returned to its earlier number 73006. The entire Class 57/3 fleet (57301 - 57316) have been reallocated en masse from ATTB to IWCA, a pool obsolete since the elimination of the West Coast Class 87 fleet.

Grids on the move...
66027 made it through to Crewe DMD in the early hours of this morning, 66250 came off at Wembley, with 56032 56049 56051 56058 56060 56090 56103 and 56104 (all WZGF). 56081 (WZGF) which should have been with these remains dumped at Old Oak Common, road transfer north perhaps. 56059 and 56095 (both WZGF) have been taken from Old Oak Common to Eastleigh Yard this afternoon, from where it is feasible that they may go north on the Hinksey, Bescot, Warrington manoeuvre to get them to Crewe. The remaining seven Class 56s at Old Oak Common; 56037 56071 56074 56094 56096 56105 and 56113 (all WZGF), are likely to head north in convoy tomorrow.

Sparkies on the move...
86233 (SRLO) has been dragged down from Crewe EMD to Long Marston by 47727 which has extracted 86250 (EPXX) 87020 87029 and 87033 (all SBXL) to Worcester to be forwarded to Crewe tomorrow for electrical testing prior to being despatched abroad. 86250 in FLOYD livery is now numbered 0450-002-5 whilst the three Class 87s, all in BRC colours, are now numbered 87020-4, 87029-5 and 87033-7.

Ped on the go...
31107 (QSTR) has been despatched for scrap being taken away by road from Derby today to Ron Hulls, Rotherham.

DRS Convoy...
20301 and 20305 (both XHSS) were hauled south from Carlisle to Eastleigh today, slightly later than planned, with 20309 being provided to haul the duo south.

Thunderer...
50008 is due to move from Crewe to Wansford tomorrow morning.

6Z56 & 6Z57...
To clear the Class 56s from Old Oak Common to Crewe it has been planned to move the 18 stored Class 56s up from Old Oak in two train loads, nine per convoy with some wagons in tow as brake force runners, running as 6Z56 and 6Z57. Obviously special dispensation has been obtained for these movements. The plan was 6Z56; 66250 with 56032 56049 56051 56058 56060 56081 56090 56103 and 56104 plus brake force runners followed by 6Z57; 66027 with 56037 56059 56071 56074 56094 56095 56096 56105 and 56113 plus brake force runners. Things have not gone quite to plan however as 6Z56, which was due to leave Old Oak at 16:20 behind 66250 with a scheduled arrival time at Crewe of 22:55, did not depart on time reportedly due to problems with 56081. 6Z57, the second convoy with 66027 at the helm was due off Old Oak at 20:23 with an arrival time at Crewe of around 03:00 tomorrow morning scheduled. I the end 6Z56 did eventually leave Old Oak Common, shortly before 20:30, in top and tail mode with the Class 56s being moved sandwiched between 66250 and 66027 without 56081 and the brake force runners. 6Z57 will have been deferred.

Another removal from Old Oak Common is 08918 (WNTS) which has been transported up to Toton.

Following cessation of use with WCRC 37248 (MBDL) has entered preservation on the GCR-N. 57601 hauled it south from Carnforth to Ruddington today.

Convoys...
Stored 20301 and 20305 (both XHSS) are scheduled for movement tomorrow from Carlisle to Eastleigh Works, several stored DRS locomotives from Carlisle and Crewe could be joining them in due course, 50008 (MBDL) is to be hauled from Crewe to the Nene Valley Railway, Hanson Traction to provide a Class 56 for this, whilst DBS have a few Class 56s for conveying from Old Oak Common to Crewe...

Further to yesterday's update 09014 (WNTS) has indeed been deposited at Doncaster being noted in Wood Yard, adjacent to the depot, since arriving from Scotland.

37516...
Former Loadhaul machine 37516 (MBDL) has been returned to traffic by WCRC undertaking a proving run between Carnforth and Hellifield with 37676 and 47798 in tow.

43198...
Following collision damage repairs at Brush Traction 43198 (EFPC) has been despatched by road from Loughborough thus leaving the Falcon Works without a FGW power car on site for the first time in a long time.

47370...
Preparations are underway for getting 47370 (DHLT) from Ipswich to Felixstowe for forwarding by road transport to Stockton.

58009 58033 & 58034...
Au revoir, 58009 58033 and 58034 (all WZFF) have been sent through to France.

On the road...
Noted heading south on a low loader the A1 near Wetherby on the 8th was 09014 (WNTS) from Millerhill, possibly Doncaster bound, whilst 56112 (WNXX) moved up by road from Old Oak Common was deposited at Crewe EMD yesterday.

Shop...
The advertised sale of 26038 has been removed as it has been decided to keep the locomotive whilst HNRC have made 'police' liveried 47829 available for sale to interested parties.

Help for Heroes...

Disposal...
At Booths the scrapping of 56027, stored from Immingham and WGAI in March 2003, has been completed, only a couple of orange bits remained this morning, RIP.

56112...
Removed by road from Old Oak Common yesterday 56112 (WNXX) is on its way north to Crewe EMD.

47540...
The 'problems' holding up the removal of 47540 from Sinderby appear to have been resolved and, following recovery from Sinderby, is now destined to go to Booths at Rotherham.

31415 47375 47707 47744 & 47767...
It would appear that 47375 (ADFL) is to survive its stay at Rotherham with a move to Barrow Hill in the offing whilst it has been indicated that 31415 47707 and 47744 from Barrow Hill along with 47767 from Studley (all NRLS) are destined to go to Booths.

Booths arrivals...
Noted being unloaded this morning both 37692 and 37798 have completed their transfers by road from Margam to Booths, Rotherham.

Crewe arrival...
58045 (WZTS) has been moved up by road overnight from Old Oak Common to Crewe EMD.

Disposal...
The scrapping of 37196 at Booths, Rotherham is at an advanced stage, only its frame remains whilst the demolition of 56027 is well underway. 37196 was stored October 2000 from WKMF on its return from hire duties in France, RIP.

Tugs...
The fleet has been increased by one. Although 60024 has been stored WNTR at Toton 60013 and 60087 have been reinstated, to WCAI and WFMU respectively.

Shunter notes...
08405 at Toton and 08752 out of use at Cardiff Tidal have been stored, both WNTR. The latter has been replaced by 09017 which has been resurrected to traffic at Tidal and is reinstated to the WSSI pool from WNTR. ATLO trio 08454 08617 and 08934 have been reallocated from AT to SV (Wembley).

PG...
The GBRf Class 66 fleet, 66701 to 66732, has en masse been reallocated from SV to PG - a new depot code created for GBRf Peterborough.

On the road...
37692 and 37798 (both WNSO) have left Margam for Booths, Rotherham - both noted in convoy on low loaders this afternoon on the M4 - whilst 58045 (WZTS) loaded today for transport from Old Oak Common to Crewe EMD should be on its way north overnight tonight. The removal of 37692 and 37789 from Margam leaves just three locomotives from those offered for sale last November that haven't been collected yet; 08665 at Healey Mills along with 37077 and 37377 from Eastleigh.

More Euro Gronks...
It has been indicated that several more DBS shunters are to be prepared for use on the Continent, France and Italy being cited as destinations. Candidates for use abroad are the 08/9s being worked on at Doncaster Carr and several Class 08s undergoing repairs at Toton which which include 08405 (WSSM), a recent arrival from Avonmouth, 08495 and 08757 (both WNTR).

Grid 133...
Evidently having stopped off somewhere over the bank holiday weekend 56133 (WZTS) has completed its transfer by road from Old Oak Common to Crewe EMD.

66/8s...
Cotswold / Advenza have advised that work is progressing at Glasgow but that their first Class 66 is now set to be released in a couple of weeks time. The current expected ready dates for the 66/8s are 66841 20/05, 66842 15/06, 66843 15/07 and 66844 30/07. Obviously 66843 and 66844 are not on the system yet but will more than likely be two from 66408 66409 or 66410.

Tractor day...
Have been asked to advise that on May 30th the Saturday diesel turns on the East Lancashire Railway will see freshly repainted 37109 (MBDL), recently rejuvenated 37418 and 37901 (MBDL) in action.

Grids on the move...
The stripped out shell of 56027 (HTLX) has been moved up from Allely's to Booths, Rotherham for disposal whilst 56133 (WZTS) has left Old Oak Common on a low loader for transport to Crewe.

92s...
92001 is back, reinstated to WTAE from store at Crewe EMD, swapping places with 92015 which has been stored WNTS at Crewe EMD.

37s...
37401 37406 and 37670 have been reallocated back to Toton from Eastleigh.

Booths update...
The cutting of 37196 is well underway and recent arrival 56027, which arrived devoid of bogies and many internals, has been unloaded into the cutting area. The sale of 08775 appears to have been cancelled as the locomotive remains on site but it has been advised that 08694 and 08919 have been sold.

Despatch...
58033 and 58034 (both WZFF) have now joined 58009 (WZFF) at Dollands Moor to await transfer through to France.

Disposals...
Two shunters, 08402 and 08489, have been scrapped at Thomsons, Stockton, 08587 is partially stripped but 37704 remains on site, intact. 08402, stored from Motherwell and WSSC in May 2004, was broken up during the last week of April whilst 08489, also stored from Motherwell and WSSC, but in July 2004, was being finished off earlier today, RIP.
