Class 01 Whilst the first withdrawals took place during 1966 two members of the Class, retained for use on the isolated Holyhead Breakwater, survived through into the TOPS era. The last Class 01wthdrawn in March 1981. Two members of the Class have survived into preservation. The second Class 01 to be numbered D2956 was scrapped by British Steel in 1969 and the two renumbered into the 01 series were disposed of on site at Holyhead during 1982. |
