Out of use / receiving attention at Toton 66002 66016 66039 66048 66050 66102 66113 66119 66187 66194 66204 and 66250 have been reallocated to the WNTR storage pool. 56015, the disposal of, an appeal...
Although listed on here as disposed of by MRJ Philips on site at Doncaster Works during March 1996 there has always been some doubt over the validity of this record, especially with recent information that has come to light. The RCTS (Railway Correspondence & Travel Society) web site have a section titled Diesel Dilemmas in which a search for information regarding the demise of 56015 has been launched, this page can be viewed by following this link. The RCTS (and myself for the disposals records on this site) are particularly interested in any photographs taken of 56015, at Doncaster Works or elsewhere as is alluded, after the open day at the 'Plant' held during July 1994 at which 56015 was easily viewable.

21/12/10

DBS 37/4s for sale...
The remaining DBS Class 37s have been offered for sale. Up for grabs (by competitive tender) are 37401 37402 37405 37406 37410 37411 37416 37417 37419 37422 37425 37426 and 37427. This implies that the mooted tie in with DRS to share Class 37 resources between the two companies is dead in the water, unless, that is, there's a procedure to be followed.

66603...
Following a period sidelined at Leeds Midland Road 66603 (DFTZ) has been returned to use.

20/12/10

DBS loco sales speculation...
Nothing concrete yet but plenty of speculation going around now that a decision has been reached regarding the most recent tender list offering from DBS. Its looking like a quantity of the Class 56s offered for sale, likely to be most if not all the Fertis examples, have been withdrawn from sale. The Class 56s going for scrap are thought to be TJ Thomson bound whilst 56006 is secured for preservation. The twenty Class 60s offered for sale look to have been withdrawn from sale. The bulk of the Class 37s offered are said to be EMR bound with the exception of 37042 and 37521 which should be heading for preservation / re-use. It is suggested that Booths, Rotherham have secured the bulk of the Class 08s and Class 09s offered for sale whilst several are HNRC or preservation bound, 08401 and 09001 being mentioned. More when known...

Kingsbury update...
Further to the Kingsbury report listed several days ago it has been advised that the industrial shunter, numbered H013, that appeared to have been scrapped is still on site. Locomotive wise, apart from some component recovery undertaken on 86212, everything else is as was. Several items of railway stock / plant have been delivered which seem to be getting processed first. Noted near the entrance gate were two tank wagons, two ferry vans, a crane and a mk3 coach numbered DB977855.
