Class 37s: The 24 potential French hire locomotives and the 11 Class 37s currently in Spain on hire to GIF have been transferred to two new pools, WZKF (from WKGF) and WZKS (from WKGS) respectively.
Class 58s: Three new pools for the foreign hire contingent have been formed. Those allocated to WFGF recently shipped out to Spain along with the two already on hire to GIF and which were allocated to the Class 37 hire pool have been transferred to WZFS. The remaining 11 Class 58s from WFGF potentially for France have been transferred to WZFF whilst the Dutch quintet, two abroad and three in the UK, formerly allocated to WFGA are now allocated to WZFH. The rest of the Class remains allocated to WNXX (although WNYX for the heavily cannibalised 58002 at Eastleigh might be more realistic).
Class 59s: The six Class 59/2s have been reallocated to Temple Mills from Hither Green but remain allocated to pool WDAG.
Class 67s: All 30 Class 67s have been reallocated from Cardiff Canton to Toton, all bar 67004 which is allocated to a new pool, WABK for RETB fitted Class 67s, remain allocated to WAAK.
Interestingly no Class 56s, even though three are at Bristol Barton Hill in readiness for a trip abroad if required, have been transferred into the WZ contract hire pool group.
CF Booth Rotherham…
- - - - -
C F Booth Limited wishes to announce with immediate effect the following conditions for the visits of railway enthusiasts to its Rotherham site:
1. No visits will be permitted during
working hours from Monday to Friday inclusive.
2. No visits will be permitted if shunting movements are taking place on site.
3. Any visitors permitted access to the site must provide their own personal
protective equipment in the form of a hard hat and high visibility jacket. This
equipment must be worn throughout the duration of the visit. Personal protective
equipment will not be provided by C F Booth Limited. Sensible, sturdy footwear
should also be worn. Access will not be permitted to those persons wearing
training shoes or similar footwear.
4. All visitors upon arrival will be required to report to James Hawley or Peter
Presswood. If permitted access to the site, each visitor will be required to
sign the Visitors Book recording their name, address and time of arrival. Time
of departure must also be recorded so that the number of visitors on site at any
one time can be monitored.
5. No visitor should at any time climb on to any locomotive, coach, wagon or
other items or structures on site. If found doing so, the visitor concerned will
be asked to leave the site immediately and will not be permitted to visit the
site again.
6. No visitor should at any time remove items from site.
7. If any photographs taken on site are intended for publication whether in a
magazine or on the internet, a copy of each photograph should be submitted to
Ken Booth Junior and his permission sought prior to publication. If unauthorised
photographs are published, C F Booth Limited reserves the right to suspend
visits forthwith.
8. C F Booth Limited reserves the right to charge visitors a fee for access to
the site.
C F Booth Limited has always had an excellent relationship with railway enthusiasts and values that relationship. However, the recent interest in its operations has been overwhelming and has started to affect the day to day running of its business. As a result, it has been decided that the visits of railway enthusiasts to its site must be managed to ensure the safety of visitors and its employees. C F Booth Limited currently has no intention of stopping all visits. However, it reserves the right to suspend visits in the event that any visitor is found to have abused the privilege afforded by the company of visiting its site.
- - - - -
Understandably visits to their site need to be regulated and these regulations will have to be adhered to or we run the risk of having access to what is practically the only railway scrapyard that allows visits stopped for good.
