Author's note, August 2012
End of the Line, the site in its various guises and locations on the web - vcom, wigancrdc and eventually wnxx - between its inception in 1999 and summer 2012, when the site evolved, still forms the core of the site as it is today.

From a peak of nearly 800 locomotives in store at various locations around the UK during 2005 the total has slowly been dropping but, even by mid 2012, the locomotives in storage total was still above 350.

As a website End of the Line had gradually been evolving into a more general news site as the years progressed. After being made redundant during April 2012 it was decided that the obvious thing to do would be to restructure WNXX into a general UK traction news and data website and to go down the commercial route.

As ever, the last few lines of the message that was on the old index page still stands today in that "Your help in keeping these records up to date is required, and in many cases invaluable, so a massive 'thank you' to everyone who has contributed so far and continues to contribute to this day."
